Favorite VMA Look: Holland Roden by Ana

“We can’t stop” the VMA buzz!

It’s hard to find someone who did not watch or catch-up on the latest news on the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards presented this past Sunday. From the over-the-top Miley Cyrus to the much anticipated NSYNC reunion. The two and half hour segment had us all tweeting! My favorite part of all these award shows will forever be the red carpet. From the Oscars to the VMA’s I always like to see who is wearing what and can they pull it off.

This year it seemed like all eyes were on Selena Gomez who struck again in Atelier Versace and boy did she rock it! She knows exactly what fits well with her body and what is appropriate for her age. However, I always like those who stand out and try to pull off something a little different than what the media usually wants to see. Before the pre-show on MTV, I was watching the red carpet online when one of my favorite instagram celebrities, Holland Roden stepped out in Naeem Khan. Her look had me going “wow” and definitely in a good way!

The Teen Wolf actress rocked pants with an open ballroom skirt. I saw a lot of people wearing jumpers this year but Roden’s choice had elegance and class. It was so elegant and perhaps a little too elegant for the VMA’s but like Oscar Wilde once said,

you can never be overdressed or overeducated.”

I love that she was not afraid to be over-the-top, in a much different way than Ms. Cyrus. Roden was not afraid to stand out and be true to who she is. Her bright scarlet lip was the cherry on top alongside her up-do. One of my favorite parts of this fabulous gown was that it included pockets which gave this vintage look a modern vibe.

We’re curious to know who were your favorite red carpet looks?
