Why I Love Lupita and You Should Too

Mexican-born Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’o impressed a worldwide audience in her American film debut as Patsey in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave. The thirty-year-old star received critical acclaim for her role, receiving nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. However, for those who haven’t watched the British-American historical drama film (which I would definitely recommend), Nyong’o made one appearance that left her impression on all of us beyond her Patsey role.

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 6.01.41 PMThat is all I have to say to remind us all of the extraordinary beauty Ralph Lauren created. The star whose name wasn’t mentioned as often as other great actresses, soon became the name to remember. Josephine Le Tutour, who? Lupita Nyong’o strutted down the red carpet far more effortlessly than Le Tutour in Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2014 show. See for yourself:

If that didn’t convince you enough to love Lupita, she continued to slay her competition at the SAG awards (step aside JLaw) in a Gucci number we all wanted after the night.

The most fitting, vibrant, stunning gown on the red carpet that night for sure. After the Ralph Lauren number she pulled off at the Golden Globes, stylist Micaela Erlanger had some work to do. Boy, did she do well. We all give her a standing ovation. WOW. The stunning actress took home a SAG award that night, much deserved, walking oh-so-fabulously to the stage, that she almost left me gasping for air when she showed off her Christian Louboutin shoes.

Fashion Houses want her.

Lupita Nyong’o landed a major fashion campaign, Miu Miu alongside actresses Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen and Bella Heathcote for its Spring 2014 campaign.

She looks good ALL the time.

She can literally wear every color known to mankind…and look flawless. Red. Purple. Yellow. Black. Orange. Blue. Beige. White. Is there any color that doesn’t suit Lupita? We think not!

Either way, we can’t get enough of them together!

Creates an Instagram account two months ago, still has better photos than all of us. SLAY girl, slay.

If it wasn’t obvious already, Lupita Nyong’o is a force to be reckoned with. With her breakout role in 12 Years a Slave, Nyong’o is now staring in a Jaume Collet-Serra film, Non-Stop alongside Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery and Liam Neeson.

March 2nd can’t come soon enough. I’m sure I’m not the only one anticipating the gorgeous gown Lupita Nyong’o is going to bless us with. In Micaela Erlanger we trust.
