I have to appologize for the delay on new posts. I am super busy with my final semester at Rutgers, work and interning. I have a lot on my plate so I have been slacking, I know, I know. But I know my lovely and loyal readers understand right!?
So, another semester commuting to the city and I still love it but it has been SO chilly lately. But with the cold weather completely taking over the metropolitan area, us, fashion lovers, have quickly learned to adapt ourselves for the windy streets and icy conditions while still keeping our cold weather-wear still stylish. I will admit, its hard wearing what you want while trying to keep warm but the key is to layer and with me being a hijabi, that is one thing I am really good at!
Adding a few extra layers will give you the opportunity to really focus on your outfit without the fear of freezing your booties off, haha! But I will admit adjusting to this cold has taken me a while, but now with my gloves in my pocket and heavy puffy, wool or leather coat, I have conquered the cold!
My newly found intern friend and I took our intern duties, one day, to another level. We decided to have a mini photo shoot in the street of NY with my iPhone. In our outfits below, we embraced the cold with fur and leather — the two hottest trends right now!
Caitlin’s ensemble consisted of a thrifted white fur coat, which I am totally in love with along with a pair of H&M leather pants, and sneaker wedges by Candies from Kohls. Check out some findings of Caitlin’s outfit below:
It was one of the warmer cold days that we had so I wanted to embrace the weather by wearing boyfriend jean crops from H&M. My favorite pair of jeans are my boyfriend crops. They are so comfortable and look so good on that it’s so hard not to be in love with them. I paired my crops with my wheat timbs, which have become my go-to boot this season. Literally I always wear them! I wore my new leather and fur combination coat from Lord & Taylor with an army patterned scarf because I knew the army pattern would look fabulous with my timbs. For some outfit inspiration, check out some of my findings for my outfit.
I really liked the way I did my facial make up also. I wanted to make my face have a little bit a glow while still making my eyes bold. I used a white liner on the inside of bottom eyelid while using a black liner from the middle of the lid to the corner of my eye. I made a mini winged eye and connected it to the bottom liner. This helped give my eye more emphasis. I wore MAC’s lipstick called “Amorous” .
